Amsterdam to Porto

The first few days of the passage we motored into headwinds and everyone worked on getting their sea legs, that is to say, seasickness reigned. Then we got a fair wind and set sail. As we passed the Cliffs of Dover one of the students reminded me that we were sailing through where D-Day had happened and history had changed.

The Bay of Biscay treated us well, sailing downwind we watched dolphins play around the ship. Having read so many sailing stories talking about crazy weather in the Bay of Biscay I was really glad to get a chance to sail through it and also glad for the great weather we had!
