I’ll be with the ship until we reach Barbados. As the medical officer I’ll be navigating the health care systems of the countries we visit if any of the crew need help.
Under way
We left Amsterdam bound for Portugal. Headwinds to start so we are motoring until the wind changes.
Amsterdam
We have spent the past week moving onto the boat and getting the students and ourselves orientated. Safety drills, provisions, cleaning stations and of course I’ve been handing out bandaids.
Amsterdam
The bike culture here is amazing.
Hanging with the crew
After dinner we’d often bike to the beach and watch the sunset, sometimes there were interesting sand sculptures 😝.
The beach on Texel
Almost every morning this week on Texel Island for orientation I’ve been able to run through the dunes and on the beach.
Ran into these guys
Trying to take a shortcut back to the house on Texel Island and suddenly I realized these large cows with horns were in the field I was cutting across! I went back and took another route.
The Journey Begins
Leaving Thunder Bay Looking at my camera case, the airport security guard asked me if I was a police officer. I hastily assured him that it was a camera I was carrying!
